“It is not about the technology; it’s about sharing knowledge and information, communicating efficiently, building learning communities and creating a culture of professionalism in schools. These are the key responsibilities of all educational leaders”. – Marion Ginapolis - This is one of my favorite quotes; it speaks to my philosophy of digital leadership.
As I reflect over the past twenty-one years of my role in education (classroom teacher, professional development coordinator, instructional coach, online instructor), I realize the importance of effective leadership at all levels in the educational landscape. Throughout my career, I have met and worked with many inspirational and effective leaders. These leaders have helped to shape my beliefs, opinions and vision of an efficient leader.
As I enter my school building, I arrive with these thoughts - How will I impact teachers today? What will I do to move our students forward and help prepare them for life? Whether it is motivating teachers to write grants, or to use a new technology tool to engage students in meaningful learning, the ultimate goal is; did I inspire someone today?
I'm looking forward to reading your introductions, and you can find out more about my educational journey by reading the Course Introduction page on our Google Site. - Mary Jo
