Emily Crow - Introduction Post

Hello!
I believe this is where I am supposed to introduce myself.  If not, I guess I will feel like a goof ball!

However, my name is Emily Crow.  I was born and raised in Glen Dale, WV, and I am 24 years old.  I attended Fairmont State University for my undergrad, and I graduated December 12, 2012 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in Mathematics grades 5-9.  I immediately began my journey to complete my Master's Degree in Digital Media - New Literacies and Learning the next spring.  During my first semester, I began substituting for Marion County.  As I was searching for jobs, I found that the perfect job for me was available in my home town of Marshall County at the same middle school in which I attended.  It was a sixth grade/middle school mathematics position; therefore, in February I applied.  While waiting on a phone call for the job, I attended a National Professional Development Schools Conference in New Orleans to represent Fairmont State University.  It was the most excitement I have had in my career!  When I returned from this conference, I received the phone call that I had an interview.  The day after my interview, I was told I had the job.  Therefore, I moved from Fairmont back home to Glen Dale.

This is now my second year at Sherrard Middle School.  I teach seventh grade math, as well as, co-teach in a sixth grade math class.  I just recently bought a house all on my own, as well as a car! Also, I just received the head cheerleading coach position at my middle school.  I am looking forward to finishing my Master's this coming May and continuing my profession at Sherrard Middle School.

Hello Emily!
I'm so excited to have another class with you! I love living vicariously through your 7th grade math adventures because I miss my 7th graders so much! I also enjoy giving you advice and help any way I can, makes me miss them less.

Congratulations on your new house, car, and cheer coach job! I was a cheerleader once upon a time, but I don't think they could pay me enough to coach it, lol.

I look forward to learning with/from you this semester!
