A note on my grant proposal:
This grant proposal was co-authored by Anita E. Hornor and
me. Anita is my next-door-neighbor at
school, and she is a technology advocate to be sure. We quite frequently discuss the future of
digital media in education, while monitoring the hall between classes. When our TI and Grant Proposal assignments suggested that we connect with
colleagues, I knew I would need to work
with her. Along with Anita, a few of
other colleagues, and one tech-savvy Assistant Principal, I was able learn much
more about the trajectory of digital leadership at our school.
This grant opportunity was found through our PDS
relationship with Fairmont State. We
decided to apply for this grant in March in order to stimulate blended learning
research and application at our school. The
idea was to provide incentive and encouragement for more teachers to use blended
learning, and to join the few teachers who are currently working to improve the
students’ learning experience through digital media. Since applying for the grant, I have learned much
more about the theories and methods of blended learning. Since my TI initiative and my grant proposal
are integrated, I will share more about that when I post the finished TI report
this week. However, I just want to say, now
that I am a few weeks wiser, I can see things that I would change about the narrative
in the proposal, in order to provide a more comprehensive view of blended
learning. Here is the grant proposal in
its original form.
