Greetings everyone!
My name is Tiffany Martin. This is
my second year in the M.Ed. program; my concentration is in Digital Media, New
Literacies, and Learning. I am a
graduate assistant at the West Virginia Folklife Center here on campus. My
undergraduate degree was in History with minors in Folklore and Museum studies.
Eventually, I aspire to roll the degrees together with a career in museum
education. Although, I will admit that the more involved I get in this program,
the more I consider following a path into higher education. Typically I only
have a general idea of where I’m heading, I prefer to keep myself open and
flexible to new ideas and opportunities; it’s worked in my favor so far.
My interests in history, culture, and folklore mean I read
- a lot. I’m constantly reading and purchasing books; I certainly abuse my
Barnes and Noble membership’s free shipping perk. I also enjoy cooking and experimenting with
food, traveling, improving my novice skills within the fiber arts (crocheting
and sewing), creative writing (most often poetry), and am continually striving
to live a more natural lifestyle.
I have no children, but I have nephews and a niece that
I can spoil and then send them on their way. I do have cats that have spent the
last decade training me to be their minion.
I see a couple familiar names here, but I look forward
to getting to know and working with the rest of you over the semester.
